Corporate Responsibility
Our Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) statement sets out our current policies and future objectives in the following areas:
- providing staff with a good working environment,
- having a positive impact on the South West HEIs and other regional stakeholders
- making a difference to the community
- reducing our negative impact on the environment
- sourcing with integrity
We also managed a region-wide Corporate Responsibility benchmarking exercise with the region's HEIs. Member HEIs completed the BiTC CSR or environment benchmarking indices and the regional report can be download here: Universities that Count SW - Corporate Responsibility Report 2008.
The project has provided a framework to measure environmental and corporate responsibility achievements, as well as encouraging peer-to-peer comparisons. As a region, the results are extremely positive when measured against the HEFCE pilot report.
Best practise will now be shared to allow performance to be improved and case studies will be collated to demonstrate the strength of the South West HEIs in relation to CSR.
