The Advanced Composites Manufacturing Centre (ACMC) is a leading composites research and development facility. Based in the School of Engineering, the Centre is active in a wide range of projects and aims to bridge the gap between traditional academic research and developnment and the needs of industry.
Since its establishment in 1987, ACMC has worked closely with companies in all areas of polymer composites engineering, enabling them to benefit from its research, contacts and experience. The ACMC team is experienced in running short courses and workshops in composites design and manufacture, and has worked with large and small companies in all sectors of the composites industry.
More recently, the Centre’s focus has been on longer-term projects and research funded by the EU, EPSRC and DTI consortia. However, it is still able to undertake smaller consultancy projects and can often help companies find external financial support.
