Since its establishment in 1994, the Aerospace Manufacturing Research Centre (AMRC) has been involved in a large number of substantive research projects. Its aim is to provide a national centre of expertise for aerospace manufacturing research and the focus of the research is on providing pragmatic solutions that meet the needs of industry.
AMRC focuses on research to help the aerospace industry in improving production techniques and processes. Global competition among aerospace manufacturers is fierce and with ever more demanding environmental legislation presenting aircraft designers with further challenges, AMRC has assumed an invaluable role.
Through a wide range of research projects, the Centre has helped organisations to achieve efficiency gains and cost reductions in aircraft manufacturing with finished products of a consistently high standard. The research has been characterised by its focus on manufacturing, stimulated by the need to reduce costs.
