The Centre for Research in Biomedicine (CRIB) comprises of a group of Internationally renowned scientists all of whom have a common theme of research in the biomedical sciences.
Biomedicine is identified by the UK government and the European Union as a key discipline for research in the 21st century. Biomedical research aims to further the understanding of disease, and to find new diagnostic and treatment strategies including drug discovery. Full exploitation of the human genome project, in particular the comprehensive assessment of cellular processes in disease is a key area of development within the CRIB.
