The Institute of Bio-Sensing Technology (IBST) works with industry and researchers to develop novel bio-sensing technology. The scope of the Institute is broad ranging from the development of new technologies for detection and measurement of biological systems to the integration of biological systems into sensing technology.
The Institute offers the following benefits:
Some of the technologies currently being developed include paramagnetic particle-based detection system, impedance spectroscopy, screen printed electrode technology, bioluminescent bacteria, vapour sensing, photometric stereo, 3D fluorescence, gene chips and spheroids.
