This University wide-centre based within the School of Conservation Sciences undertakes internationally recognised research on forensic issues and is a leading provider of education and training in a wide range of forensic subjects. We are a multi-disciplinary research team of scientists and investigators. Specialist interests include, amongst others, anthropology, archaeology, biomolecules, law, scene investigation, toxicology, public health, accident investigation, mass disasters and laboratory analysis. Complementary work with other centres e.g. Postgraduate Medical Centre, Centre for Design, Engineering & Computing, is carried out. The Centre has worked with other Schools in the University to develop new degrees in Forensic Computing and Law with Forensic Science. Current developments in the pipeline include the use of digital techniques for forensics. Our research is designed to support policy development and implementation, and we have strong links with many institutions, practising professionals and policy makers locally, regionally and internationally.
