The Bristol Centre for Management Accounting Research (BRICMAR) is an initiative organised jointly by the University of the West of England and the University of Bristol. BRICMAR's breadth and depth of expertise stems, not just from the pooling of inter-university knowledge and experience but, from its inter-disciplinary approach to management accounting.
The Centre operates in close contact with individual practitioners, companies, and with professional bodies, particularly the Chartered Institute of Management Accounting (CIMA). It disseminates its findings through workshops, seminars and conferences and in academic and professional journals.
An aim of BRICMAR is to foster collaboration between academics and practitioners, encouraging academics to undertake relevant research and providing practitioners with the information and guidance they need to take advantage of worthwhile innovations, while avoiding making expensive mistakes.
