Centre for Employment Studies Research, University of the West of England

The Centre for Employment Studies Research (CESR) is a dedicated UWE Research Centre based at Bristol Business School. The centre's research agenda has developed to embrace emerging theoretical and public policy concerns and currently includes five inter-related themes:

• Work organisation and the 'new workplace'
• Employment restructuring, equality and diversity
• Trade unions, employee representation and voice
• Cross-national comparative employment systems
• Employment relations theory and critical realism

Employment Studies is a broad and mulit-disciplinary field. It encompasses different theoretical and interest group perspectives on the nature of the employment relationship, the changing world of work, the structure and functioning of labour markets, the role of social agents and of government.
