The Centre for Social and Organisational Learning as Action Research (SOLAR) is a research and development team which specialises in new forms of action research and co-inquiry to support learning and change in complex social and organisational systems.
The focus is on cross-boundary work across 'whole systems', working with organisations and systems where social outcomes and social responsibility matter. SOLAR's aim is to find solutions to deep-rooted social and organisational problems and its research involves a commitment to continuous enquiry to support long-term sustainable change.
SOLAR has facilitated an extensive range of action research projects. It runs an internationally renowned PhD Programme and hosts regular collaborative enquiry forums and events to which many people of international repute contribute.
