Improve Access to HE

Our Strategic Plan sets objectives to achieve in five areas of work: Learning and Teaching; Research; Widening Participation; Business Engagement; and Organisational Development.

To improve access to higher education the following two strategic objectives have been set: 

• To raise aspirations and motivation to enter HE and, working with the Lifelong Learning Networks, to increase levels of progression from further education to higher education in the SW for groups that are under-represented within the student population.
• To ensure that any individual in the SW is able to gain access to education, irrespective of their education and social background.

The Widening Participation Group is leading on this area of activity.
