The 20th International Conference of the Society for Animation Studies will be hosted by the Arts Institute at Bournemouth from 18th - 20th July 2008.
Entitled 'Animation Unlimited' , the conference will feature pre-eminent scholars and practitioners from some of the world’s leading institutes of animation education, who will converge in Bournemouth to discuss, debate and drive the industry forward. Some of the leading animation organisations attending include Aardman, Disney, Pixar, Cartoon Network, Nickelodean and the BBC.
Over the course of three days, in addition to having the opportunity to engage with leading academics from all around the world – from New York to Kyoto and from Norway to Singapore, taking in Australia and Germany as well as many more continents and countries – attendees will also hear three keynote addresses and two special guest speakers.
But the weekend isn’t all talk and discussion, attendees will also be invited to relax and network at a specially organised Saturday night gathering at a venue on Bournemouth’s award-winning seafront.
Tickets for this 150-capacity event will soon be going on sale and places can be reserved at the reduced price of £150 until May 31st 2008 (normal price £200 with some limited UK student concessions also available).
