A South West Consortium bid to provide a new government MA programme in Teaching and Learning has been successfully led by the University of the West of England.
The South West has been awarded funding by the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC) for new Doctoral Training Centres and Doctoral Training Grants that will generate the scientists and engineers needed for Britain's future.
The South West universities have been awarded a total of £106 million by HEFCE in its distribution of funding for 2009/10. This represents an impressive increase of over 20 per cent (£19 million) on last year.
HERDA-SW will be co-hosting a Higher Skills Pathfinder Conference with the North West Universities Association and Universities for the North East on Thursday 19 March 2009. The event will take place at the Manchester Conference Centre, Sackville Street, Manchester.
