Funding Methodology
An innovative Funding Methodology for work-based-learning is being tested by the University of Bath in order to develop a sustainable solution for employers. The aims and objectives of the programme are:
- To develop a system of contributions by allocating a matrix of elements comprising the total cost of provision to employers, employees or HEIs, as appropriate;
- To compare the contribution to the full costs of provision made by HEIs or FECs to the costs they incur through more conventional methods of delivery;
- To use this information to inform the funding levels and methods for work-based learning provision;
- To investigate the actual cost of provision by HEIs and FECs by the cost of provision by private providers;
- To investigate the price that business may be willing to pay for the necessary training provision.
