A common commitment to a common purpose

Universities South West enables a far greater engagement of institutional leaders in charting the direction for HEI collaboration and in leading their institutions in pursuit of collaborative goals, playing an active role in driving forward a shared agenda.

We work in partnership at all levels:

• At a strategic level, through our Strategy Board of Heads of Institutions. The Board leads the development of all areas of our work identified in our Strategic Plan.
• At a managerial level, through our Executive Committee of senior HE managers. The Executive Committee is responsible for overseeing the relevant work of our Groups in delivering the Strategic Plan. The Executive Committee also leads activity in support of prioritised economic sectors.
• At a delivery level, through our Groups in Research, Learning & Teaching, Widening Participation, Business Engagement, Careers, Creative Industries, Health Planning, ICT, Libraries and Marketing.  All our Groups meet regularly throughout the year and report directly to the Executive Committee.

Through bringing together leading people in a particular area of activity the Groups provide Universities South West with the capacity to deliver practical action from its member Institutions.
