Name: Virginia Bailey - Schools Events Co-ordinator, Bournemouth University
Description: After graduating from Marjons in 2003, I made my way to Hampshire, to work for the New Forest District Council. Whilst working as a Duty Officer at New Milton Health and Leisure Centre, I was offered the opportunity from my local football club to set up a girls section of the club. This was the stepping stone I was looking for into the exciting and rewarding world of Sports Development and after a year of working for the NFDC, I took up the post of Sports Development Officer for the Borough of Poole. I had four great years in Poole, working on some fantastic projects, with some amazing people.
In 2005 when it was announced that we would be hosting the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games, I made it my mission to make sure that I was going to be part of the greatest sporting event in the world, in some shape or form! And that's when RELAYS came along....
To be part of the RELAYS team, is both a privilege and pleasure! Not only do I get to work on an exciting and rewarding project which is part of the South Wests 2012 legacy, I am also very fortunate to work with an amazing team of RELAYS staff and volunteers!
