Seeking volunteer event stewards for two Inspired by London 2012 projects
08 Mar 2011

The “Jurassic Coast” - England’s only natural World Heritage Site - provides a spectacular setting to the London 2012 Games in Weymouth and Portland. The Earth Festival is part of Maritime Mix: London 2012 Cultural Olympiad by the Sea, and also comprises a series of events from Swanage to Exmouth.
Onboard– a complete flight experience with Jurassic Airlines - is an innovative, multi-sensory experience immersing passengers in a journey of discovery along the Jurassic Coast and across other World Heritage Sites. Throughout this low carbon journey Onboard will give an insight into the stories of the past that can inform our present and help us live more sustainably today. The latest in technology. And it’s fun – be prepared for some surprises! www.jurassicairlines.co.uk
Date: 26th July – 9th September, 2012
Location: Weymouth Pavilion Theatre Forecourt
Pliosaur: A 35-foot Jurassic lizard will be touring the Dorset and East Devon Coast this summer and audiences will be shown how to operate the beast’s mechanical mouth and eyes of this life-sized creature. They’ll be able to peer inside it through peep holes before climbing into its belly to see a film about Jurassic underwater life and find the plesiosaurs and ichthyosaurs that made up the Pliosaur’s diet. We need stewards who can help set up and manoeuvre the Pliosaur, when it is on show. Dates include
Lyme Regis Fossil Festival 4 – 6 May
· Durlston country park (Swanage) 10 – 20 May,
· Natural Seaton Festival - 22 June
· Spirit of the Sea, Weymouth 7 July
· Exmouth Earth Festival 5 August
