£1000 up for grabs at "Dragon's Den" style event!

£1,000 is up for grabs for local community sport and play projects at a “Dragons Den” style event

Teign Valley Community Hall in Christow will be hosting a Dragons Den style event on Thursday 1st July 2010 where young people can pitch their ideas to a panel who will award the winning idea up to £1,000.

The competition is part of a half day event organised by the Devon Playing Fields Assocation (DPFA) and Unlimited Sport Relief for anybody or any organisation wanting to improve the sport and play facilities in their local community. Competitors will be asked to make a 3 minute pitch their ideas for improved sport, art or recreational activities in their community to a Dragons Den style panel of other young people.

The day runs from 10.00 until 3.30 and will also include speakers giving inspiration and ideas on sport and play developments and funders and exhibitors who can help make sport and play projects a reality.

Charlotte Weedon from DPFA commented ‘We are really excited about this day and hope to provide ideas, tips and inspiration for improving recreation in local Devon communities.  Anyone with an interest in sport and play is welcome. As well as the young people who use recreation facilities we are providing this event for voluntary organisations, town and parish councils and sport and play professionals’
